Thanks for great music, Mary...
What about Russian tour?
Hi Mary, I'm glad you like my record and thank you for your kind review of it. You are a master of your art, a tremendous person and every orphan's hero with The Foundling. Look forward to seeing you rock the house at Hugh's Room on Sept 24th!
You are a true poet and so very talented. Glad you still share the South with us. I share the same energy with you...
ms. gauthier, how about a first ever south american tour? please consider the idea. greetings from rio, brazil.
I just resently discovered your work but your music beckons to the soul! I am going to try to catch the Nashville show in Sept and am excited at the prospect! Keep'em coming!
After you played the Mountain Stage on Auguest 1st, I got to shake your hand and tell you what a great show you put on(short fellow with a beard and tie-dye Bob Dylan shirt). I am pleased to say that I have begun collecting your music and am definatly a life long fan. I hope you tour close to the Mountain State again soon. Thanks for what you do and keep on tellin' stories.
Mary I just heard you sing for the first time today on one of our national stations. the song was mercy, you know i was smitten straight away, your great! and you know when I read your life story I understood where the emotion comes from its real YOU'VE LIVED IT.... I m a MAJOR FAN NOW. May god bless you !!!! Caroline
Just a hearty thank you to you and Tania for the 2 fabulous oregon shows that I was honored to attend. I've wanted to see you "live" for several years and my wish came true with two shows in three days. May your seeking heart and questioning mind continue to guide you in a fruitful and love filled journey.
hey mary, is there any chance you will touring in the southeast any time soon, like mobile, or pensacola. would love to see you live in concert. A louisiana girl that made it out, and made it big. Love all your music.
I heard your NPR interview re: "The Foundling" this afternoon. Your story is so powerful, your voice is so mesmerizing, and your music is so hauntingly beautiful that I had what Vermont Public Radio calls a "driveway moment": I sat in my car with the radio on long after I arrived home, in order to not miss any of the segment. I just turned 60 a couple of days ago, and I haven't been moved by any music as much as I was by yours for over 30 years.
Thank you,
Anne
You can't imagine how shocked I was to hear a song on the local college station about *burning the sugarcane fields"! I immediately had to do a google search to find you. I mean, it's not often someone from the bayou escapes and lives to tell about it... I'm always happy to discover a wonderful "new" singer/songwriter. Hope to catch one of your live shows in the near future.
Mary - a self-proclaimed music lover who only just discovered you yesterday. The Foundling is achingly beautiful and the arrangements compliment your songs so well. I can\'t stop listening to this record. Please get to Omaha. Play at The Slowdown. We\'d love to have you.
welcome back to Santa Cruz gal
happy to fix you some vegetarian vittles if you want...!
Mary, you and Tania Elizabeth are awesome! Saw you in Santa Monica on 7-11-10. What a connection you have with people! Wanted to stay and tell you in person that you're amazing but had to rush away. Thank you so much!
Caught the show last night in San Diego - - - amazing! Even this afternoon, I'm still reflecting on the performance and the impact of the lyrics and music. Thanks.
CONGRATULATIONS MARY! HERE IN MEXICO PEOPLE DON\'T LIKE FOLK OR COUNTRY MUSIC, OUR MUSIC CULTURE IS TOO POOR AND BAD. BUT I LOVED MUSIC LIKE LUCINDA WILLIAMS, SUGARLAND, COWBOY JUNKIES. I JUST WANNA KNOW WICH ONES ARE YOU MUSIC INFLUENCES. THANKS FOR YOUR MUSIC IT\'S GREAT.
Hi Mary,
any chance you\\\'ll be playing in NYC mid September?
Hi Mary,
any chance you\'ll be playing in NYC mid September?
Hi Mary,
Caught you and your story on NPR on 06/21/10. Oh my, I thought it was my own story there for a minute, except that it was 20 years earlier and in DC, but it's hauntingly similar. Thank you for your gift of songwriting and music. What would I do without NPR to help me reflect on my own life? First, Pola Rapaport's story called "Family Secret", and now your beautiful music in "The Foundling". I must have the CD and I'm going now to find it. Do come to Nashville, TN (The Bluebird or The Basement) or to Oxford, MS (Off Square Books and their weekly 'live radio show [Thacker Mountain Radio] with noted authors and songwriters). Best to you and the other foundlings out there! We can make it!
Ever been to Alaska? Wanna come? Please please please. I find your music incredibly healing. Thank you!
